End of the Year Update



2020 is coming to an end. It’s been a tough year for us all, as individuals, and as a collective. There have been countless failures whether it be on a personal or professional level. Positive news seldom made an appearance this year, but we at The Failure Report have some pleasant news for our end of the year update.


The biggest news is the release of Season 3 of The Failure Report. We have been working so hard on making this season the best one yet. The official release date is pending at the moment but it is coming sooner than later, so be sure to follow us on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and all other podcast streaming platforms at The Failure Report.

The release date may be pending, but the guest speakers are not. We are excited and proud to announce Season 3’s guest speaker list. It includes:


Erica Fields

Erica is President and majority owner of her Grain Marketing firm, Brooks Grain, LLC, which was certified as an LGBT business enterprise in 2015. She started the business in 2007 after working in the grain industry since 1974. She has been supplying rye to the distilling industry for over 40 years and regularly came to Louisville and the surrounding area where many of her customers are. Originally from Minneapolis MN, Erica and her wife, Patience Fields, moved to Louisville in February of 2017 as the bourbon industry’s expansion and growth created the need to relocate her business to Louisville. Erica is one of the co-founders of CIVITAS Regional LGBTQ Chamber of Commerce serving the Ohio River Valley. She is also a member of the Board of Directors for the Fund for the Arts, and a member of the Rotary Club of Louisville.


Kela

Kela is a second-time founder with a passion for building technology that reduces carbon emission in traditional industries. He originally founded Arrow Food Couriers and was the Co-Founder of Mailhaven, which was recently acquired by Luxer One. He is a champion for the United Nations Climate Neutral Now Initiative. His academic background is in spatial analysis, and when he is not problem-solving he enjoys reading, watching soccer, and playing volleyball.


Pastor Michael Todd

Pastor Michael Todd has been one of the Lead Pastors of Transformation Church in Tulsa, OK since February 2015. He, and his wife Natalie, were entrusted with the church by the founding Pastor, Gary McIntosh, after 15 years of operation. Their personal philosophy and driving passion is re-presenting God to the lost and found for transformation in Christ. Their mission is to place Christ in the center of culture to impact their community, city and world with the gospel presented in a relevant and progressive way. Pastor Todd’s viral series “Relationship Goals” began in 2016. Since its premiere, the series has gained influence and has reached millions of people all over the world. Michael knew that this wasn’t just a sermon but was a necessary lesson in which the world needed to hear, so he wrote his debut book, “Relationship Goals”, which became a #1 New York Times Bestseller.


Arlan Hamilton

Arlan built a venture capital fund from the ground up, while homeless. She is the Founder and Managing Partner of Backstage Capital, a fund that is dedicated to minimizing funding disparities in tech by investing in high-potential founders who are people of color, women, and/or LGBT. Started from scratch in 2015, Backstage has now raised more than $7 million and invested in more than 130 startup companies led by underestimated founders. In 2018 Arlan co-founded Backstage Studio which launched four accelerator programs for underestimated founders in Detroit, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, and London.


Harold Hughes

Harold is the visionary and team captain behind BANDWAGON, a Greenville, SC-based identity infrastructure company that helps customers transparently aggregate, manage, and store valuable consumer identity information. With an MBA and multiple Bachelors degrees from Clemson University (in addition to currently pursuing a Graduate Certificate in Innovation & Entrepreneurship from Stanford University), Harold has the knowledge, insight, and experience to help clients better understand and act upon the available data about their fans to create the ultimate fan experience.


Lydia Elle

Lydia is a woman and mother navigating the space in between. Known as the 'Wholeness expert,' Lydia speaks on the importance of embracing all aspects of life and approaching each moment with authenticity and hope. She believes that a woman does not have to be defined by one thing, but can rather be defined by all the things she takes time to be present for. Her recent conversations are on the importance of diversity and access to opportunity for WOC. Lydia is also a contributing writer at Thrive Global and an author. Her debut book, “And So I Prayed...The First 40 Days” was released in 2015.


Additionally, Lydia consults with small businesses and start-ups to fine-tune their strategic operations to maximize efficiencies and minimize costs. She helps founders diagnose the steps to create their clear vision and make their solution set digestible and manageable as they work to achieve it.


Lydia’s passion project is London’s Learning, Inc in support of a 9-year-old girl reading 1000 books in a year. This first literacy initiative (LondonsReadathon.org) raises funds to purchase books for other children who do not own any. Books are distributed in the US and orphanages around the world.

Russ Johns

Russ is a speaker, radio show host, podcaster, and small business owner. He is the host and voice of #PirateBroadcast Livestream and Podcast. His company, The Pirate Syndicate, assists clients in expanding your business, brand, etc. His other company, NextStepNext, is a marketing business that provides strategic insight to execute marketing tasks to support clients’ specific business goals. After developing platforms producing over 1000 programs a year, Russ is qualified to deliver results for clients using alternative media in the social streams.


All of them were excellent guest speakers and we look forward to you all hearing the conversations, advice, and examples that were shared in these new episodes.
